‘Solidarity means standing next to the other person and give him or her your hand to stand next to you. Solidarity is an act that benefits both actors since no one is inferior or superior than the other. Solidarity entails going against official actors if this is means helping people keep their dignity.’

Jenny is from Chios. She works at a local school as an English teacher. On most days after work, she can be found in Souda visiting families, playing with children, or simply listening to the voices of the camp. She is an active member of Chios Solidarity – a team that has been standing in solidarity with refugees for more than a year.

Jenny is a solidarian.
